  • The Educational Delegation from Zeeland and West-Brabant, Netherlands (2008-4-20)

On April 15th, 2008 the educational delegation from Zeeland and West-Brabant came to visit our school. The delegation was so impressed by the hospitality and joyousness of our students.

  • Our students went beyond the call of duty in assisting the visiting delegation during their stay in Yangzhou. Not only did the fluency of our students impressed our guests but also the way in which they readily adapted to interact with guests from afar. Their visit has left both of us beautiful memories.

  • Yangzhou Jianzhen International Marathon 2008 (2008-4-7)

On April 6th, 2008, 770 teachers, students and parents from Beijing New Oriental Foreign Language School at Yangzhou took part in the third Yangzhou China, Jianzhen International Half-Marathon Tournament.

Our school was the biggest group turning up in this event. Among all these participants, 302 heroes finished the half marathon under the three-hour time limit. Six international teachers from our school also took part and they all finished the race with great success.

  • Collegiate School Students’ Visit (2008-3-25)

On March 10th 2008, a group of 14 teachers and students from our sister school the Collegiate School visited our campus. During their visit they took part in our Monday morning flag raising ceremony, interacted with their peers, learned some Chinese martial arts (wushu), and traditional Chinese ink painting. These activities helped to broaden their perspective of the Chinese culture and served as a bridge for the better understanding of our two cultures.

Before leaving our school to return to America, Principal Dr. Wang gave a speech about our school, its philosophy, and its goals to our sister school’s party. The speech was well received. The students’ visit has injected a great excitement to our students. We believe students from both school can benefit a lot from these exchanges.
